Japanese ceramicist Yasushi Kuno works alone and makes all of his pieces by hand to produce limited edition dinnerware. The Rinka Dinner Plate is thrown on the wheel, one by one. As it dries, Kuno presses it into a plaster mold to form the traditional Japanese rinka flower shape. When it’s completely dry, he finishes the edges and makes the “koudai" or foot. Celebrating traditional Japanese techniques, Kuno’s pieces have the timeless appeal of ancient craft.
