The Roman and Williams Guild Original Designs lighting collection grows with the Porto Sconce in Clear, designed by Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer. A reimagining of nautical lights used for centuries for sea navigation, this evolution of Roman and Williams’s rippled and colored glass collection embodies Alesch and Standefer’s infinite curiosity about historical traditions and deep reverence for the ocean.

The rippled glass shade is hand-blown in Brooklyn, and knurled details including a custom-cast brass lip emphasize the Porto’s old-world beauty. Encompassing a wide backplate and narrowed base, the brass sconce body is hand-spun by generational masters at a 150-year-old French foundry. Whether ensconcing private quarters, lighting a passageway, or helming the mood of an entertaining space, the Porto Sconce joins the maritime tradition of illuminating hope in the dark.
