WOVEN TRAY WITH WOOD AND FIBER CONCRETE

Danish basketmaker Ane Lyngsgaard works primarily in willow, bark and a variety of recycled materials to create her baskets and sculptures. She grows her own willow and harvests it each December, yielding about one ton of material annually. Lyngsgaard hand weaves her firewood baskets in willow, while her sculptural works are made with a mix of willow, bark, driftwood, fiber concrete and wire. The artist and teacher is the former president of the Danish basketmakers association, representing over 1,000 makers.
